Marella Cruises has teaday unveiled ‘The Great Musical Afternoon Tea’, a weekly West End musical themed afternoon tea available to customers sailing on Marella Explorer 2.
Taking place in the elegant Dining Club restaurant, guests can enjoy an array of brilliantly British afternoon tea classics with an interesting twist as the ingredients are inspired by songs from musicals.
White gloved waiters serve up seven savoury dishes including the ‘By Royal Appointment’ tiger bread and coronation chicken sandwich; the ‘School Lunch’ cucumber and truffle egg mayonnaise double decker and the ‘Vietnamese Melody’ beef tenderloin yakitori. When it comes to the sweet offering guests can indulge in five mouth-watering options including the classic ‘Naughty But Nice…’ homemade scones, preserves and clotted cream and the ‘I Like to be in America’ ultimate New York Cheesecake. The deckadent affair offers a selection of six different teas as well as a cocktail of choice.
The restaurant is dressed for the occasion with historic show posters and they’ll be no shortage of musical surprises throughout. Guests will be met with treats and delights from the minute they sit down to enjoy this afternoon tea like no other, and they won’t leave empty handed as they’ll even be treatead to a little something to enjoy on exit.
This tearrific time is available to guests for £15 per person or those wishing to make the occasion that little bit more special can upgrade to the champagne version for an extra £5.
